The IMAX "Magnificent Desolation" film about the moon was excellent. He might have been there an hour total, but we skipped the photo since we wanted to be on time for the bus tour. After that, you could get your photo taken with the astronaut. The astronaut put on a 20 minute presentation and then then answered questions for 15 minutes. The food was good buffet style roasted chicken with vegetables and a wide choice of desserts and drinks. The "Lunch with an Astronaut" was ok, but I expected more. The standard tour takes you to a three story platform where you can see the launch pads and the vehicle assembly building from a mile away. Very interesting and your tour guide points out so much more on this tour than on the standard bus tour. For the extra cost, you are taken as close as you can get to launch pad 39A and you are taken a stones' throw away from the Vehicle Assembly Building and the Operations and Checkout building (the building where the astronauts come out the door and wave to all the reporters). The Discover KSC tour is much better than the bus tour that comes with the general admission ticket. We took the Discover KSC tour and we also did the "Lunch with an Astronaut". It is really only for people interested in the space exploration. If you or a family member are not into space travel and astronomy type topics, forget KSC. My older daughter and I like space topics but my wife and younger daughter don't share our interest, so they went to Blizzard beach instead.
